Non Executive Director – Chairman of the Board
Musa brings a wealth of entrepreneurial skills and business expertise to the company. He sits as a director and board member on several companies and, until recently, was the chairman of Tsogo Sun (KZN) for 13 years. Musa owns several companies across a diverse range of industries including trucking, retail, insurance, financial services, construction and hospitality. He was a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 1990 to 1994.

Wayne is a chartered accountant and completed a BCOMPT (Hons) through UNISA. He joined Laser Junction in 2008 as the Financial Director and was promoted to Managing Director at the beginning of 2011. He oversees the daily activities of the business and is responsible for all long term strategic initiatives. He has the support of the board to expand the business and establish Laser Junction as a leading international player in the steel fabrication industry.
Previously Wayne spent 10 years living and working in the United Kingdom and Europe where he was employed as an independent consultant, specialising in financial project management in the investment banking and wealth management industries.
Bruce has been in sales from the start of his working career. Having joined Laser Junction in 2006, he was appointed Sales Director in 2008. He is responsible for identifying opportunities in the market place as well as developing and maintaining relationships with key customers and overseeing the internal sales team.
Duma joined Laser Junction at the beginning of 2013 having previously worked in the technical departments at Procter and Gamble EMEA, BHP Billiton SA, Telkom SA and MTN SA.
He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (UKZN); and Electrical Engineering Diploma (MUT) and a Junior Management Diploma in Production Management (ICIE).
He is responsible for strategic planning and compliance within the operations function.
Sphiwe is one of the longest serving employees at Laser Junction and he commenced his career in 1997 as a humble operator working on the factory floor. During the next few years he worked his way through the ranks of various departments eventually finding his niche role as the company’s HR Manager. In 2008 Sphiwe was appointed as the Human Resources Director. Sphiwe has completed a degree in Specialist Human Resources Management from the Durban University of Technology and he is currently studying towards a B Tech Degree in Human Resources.
Don holds a Certificate in Project Design with the Academy of Drafting (Durban).
Simon joined the company in 1998 and has worked in various departments, progressing to management level where he has successfully fulfilled the roles of Sales Manager and Nesting Manager. As the current Laser Manager he is responsible for coordinating and managing all of the daily production and operational requirements of the department.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from UNISA.
Neil has been with Laser Junction since 2004 and in the early years he gained experience across several departments, including Despatch, Stores and Fabrication. As the Fabrication Manager he has overseen the welding, bending and machining departments. In 2008 Neil was promoted to Production Manager where he oversees and plans and coordinates the daily fabrication activities.
Cliffy is the key contact for the company’s automotive production customers and he is responsible for all aspects of the stores including order processing, stock control and deliveries. He is a long serving member of the team and has been with Laser Junction since 2000.
Mark is a recent addition to the team and he brings a wealth of experience in Quality Management and Control having worked in the industry since 1989, where he held a manager’s positions at GUD Filters, Ferodo and Conlog.
In 1994 Mark received a double distinction in Quality Assurance – City of Guilds London and he has knowledge and experience of ISO 9001:2008; SABS 0157; ISO 9001:2000; ISO TS 16949 and VDA-6.
Shannon holds National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Durban University of Technology and is also qualified as an Autonomous Maintenance Operator (Unilever). He joined Laser Junction in 2008 and was promoted to Design Manager in 2011. He is responsible for the day to day management of the design team and assists with and coordinates customers’ R&D work.
Vusi is the longest serving employee and joined the company in 1997. He progressed from the position of a welder through the ranks to head up the welding department from 2005 until 2012.
He now oversees the Welding R&D and Training divisions, where his vast experience and knowledge can be shared with the next generation of Laser Junction welders.
